A ‘Dewaine’ Fritz, age 80, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2008. He was born May 16, 1928 in Madison, Kansas. He was raised and educated in Kansas. Dewaine moved to Oregon in 1962. Mr. Fritz was a longtime millwright and was also a past owner of an auto body shop in Winston, Oregon. He loved working on cars, talking and visiting and fishing, but most of all, he loved karaoke. He was a member of the Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge and was a past exalted Ruler and was also a member of the Sutherlin, Oregon Eagles Lodge. On December 14, 1992, Dewaine was united in marriage to Maxine Young in Canyonville, Oregon. He is survived by his wife, Maxine of 16 years; children, Thomas Fritz and his wife, Louise of Winston and Linda Hayter and her husband, Robert of Kansas; step children, Elden Barnett and his wife, Cheryl; Alvin Barnett and his wife, Juanita; Ronnie Barnett; Roger Barnett and his wife, Cindy; Shirley Stratton and her husband, Rick and Darryl Barnett and his wife, Sara all of Myrtle Creek and Judy Eads of Idaho; grandchildren Wendy, Stacy and Robert; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Taylor's Family Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Vance Culpepper. Interment will follow services at Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may come pay their final respects on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Taylor's Family Chapel between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
