Biography*

John Miller was born in the village of Werschau, in the Duchy of Nassau, Germany. He immigrated to the United States with his parents at about the age of 9. The family farmed in Erie county outside of Sandusky for a few years before moving to Reedtown in 1863. John married Elisabeth Seasly of Bismark, Huron County, in 1869 and they had eleven children. John continued to farm in Reed until his retirement. He died at his home in Reed and was buried in Assumption Cemetery, where he was a long-time parishoner.
