Otto Miller


     Funeral services for Otto Miller, 71, who was pronounced dead of a heart attack at Bellevue hospital Monday morning, will be held at 9:30 a. m. Thursday at Reed Assumption church with the Rev. Henry Barge officiating.
     The ruling of death due to heart failure was given by Sandusky county coronor [sic] Dr. F. A. Visconti after Mr. Miller had been involved in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 269 five miles south of Bellevue, Monday morning.
     A semi-retired farmer, Mr. Miller was born in Reed township, a son of John and Elizabeth (Siesel) Miller, on March 11, 1895.
     He was married to Loretta Hahl on Oct. 18, 1921, who survives, along with three sons, Bernard at home, Arthur of Attica, and Francis of Republic. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Donald, Gerald, Donna Jean and Janice Miller.
     He was the last surviving member of the family of John and Elizabeth Miller.
     The body will lie in state at the family home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
     Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Foos funeral home of Bellevue.
 
Burial*He was buried on 26 January 1967 in Assumption Cemetery, located in Reed Township, Seneca County, Ohio. The funeral Mass was held at Assumption Catholic church in Reedtown. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.13,12

Bernard Miller


     Bernard Miller, age 80, of 13542 E. SR 162, Republic, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the Bellevue Care Center. He was born April 27, 1925 in Reed Township, the son of the late Otto and Loretta (Hahl) Miller. Bernard was a lifelong farmer and owned the former Harvest Moon Restaurant and Shell Station in Attica. He was a member of the former Reed Assumption Church and St. Gaspar Church.
     Survivors include a daughter, Janice M. Holm of Attica; sons, Gerald F. (Elizabeth) Miller of Republic and Donald R. (Lynn) Miller of Attica; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and his special friend Bernadine Roth of Republic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anita (Schneider) Miller, whom he married June 5, 1948 at Immaculate Conception Church, and brothers Arthur W. Miller and Francis J. Miller.
     Friends will be received 4-9 p.m. today, March 4, 2006 and 2-9 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
     The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Mar. 6, 2006 at St. Gaspar Church 16209 E. CR 46, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Reed Assumption Cemetery.
     Memorials may be made to the Bellevue Care Center Activity Account, One Audrich Square, Bellevue, OH 44811.
 
Burial*He was buried on 6 March 2006 in Assumption Cemetery, located in Reed Township, Seneca County, Ohio. The funeral services were held at St. Gaspar Church in Bellevue. Burial was in Assumption Cemetery in Reed. Arrangements were made by the Foos and Son Funeral Home in Bellevue.4

She received the Keller Award at her graduation for holding the highest four year average in the class of 1957. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Catholic United for the FAITH. She was secretary for the Willard, Republic and Tiffin Teachers' Associations, Tiffin "Right to Life Association" and for C.U.F. and a member of Seneca County Retired Teachers Association.

She worked for 42 years teaching area elementary students in one room schools in West Lodi and Reedtown, Ohio. She taught in Tiffin, Willard and Republic. During the summers she taught school for Spanish-American Migrants from 1965-1981, aided in the organization of kindergartens at Willard, Tiffin, St. Mary's Catholic School and migrant kindergarten in Old Fort.5 
Death*Rita died on 14 June 2013 in Defiance Hospice Care, located in Defiance, Defiance County, Ohio, at age 94.5 
Burial*She was buried on 18 June 2013 in St. Mary's Cemetery, located in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. The funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin, officiated by the Rev. Gary Walters. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.5
