Marriage*Charles married Mary Julia Fritz, daughter of Andrew Fritz and Mary Elisabeth Velten, on 13 February 1902 in Neosho, Newton County, Missouri. They were married by a Justice of the Peace in Neosho. There were no children from this marriage.1 
Census 1910*Chas. Washburn (given age 40) was listed as the head of household on the 1910 Census recorded 28 April 1910 in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. The official date of this census was 15 Apr 1910. Also living in the household were his wife, recorded as Julia Washburn (given age 28), his brother-in-law, recorded as Leo Fritz (given age 13), his sister-in-law, recorded as Mamie Fritz (given age 18). They lived at 720 St. Louis Avenue, where Charles was employed as a bartender. Charles and Julia were married for nine years but had no children.2

He paid his way by doing odd jobs.1
