Arthur R. Schank, 85, of E. TR 8, Tiffin, made his journey to Heaven at 5:45 a.m., Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the emergency room of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

He was born to the late Amel John and Rose (Wise) Schank on April 1, 1924, in Norwich Township, Huron County, Ohio. He married Rita Kummerer on Aug. 17, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, and she survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Harold (Dianne) Schank and Ron (Sue) Schank, both of Tiffin, and Albert (Maureen) Schank of Black Hawk, Colo; three daughters, Kathleen (Donald) Weaver of Republic, and Marie (Kenneth) Schroth and Barb (Gene C.) Goshe, both of Tiffin; nine grandsons; five granddaughters; one step-granddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Martha Daniel and Loretta Dendinger; and six brothers, Herbert, Leon, Leonard, Ralph, Clarence and Anthony.
Arthur attended Bloody Corners and Reed Assumption Schools. He retired after 36 years as a petroleum truck driver for Landmark/Rural Serv., and was a life-long farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a devoted family man.
There will be private family visitation.

The funeral Mass is at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The rosary will be recited at the church 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
