Marriage*Joseph married Elizabeth Krupp, daughter of Jakob Krupp and Eva A. Schott, on 3 February 1885 in Bismarck, Sherman Township, Huron County, Ohio. Witnesses were Franciscus Krupp and Barbara Müller.2 
Census 1900*Joseph Miller (given age 52) was listed as the head of household on the 1900 Census recorded 12 June 1900 in Shelby, Richland County, Ohio. The official date of this census was 1 Jun 1900. Also living in the household were his wife, recorded as Elizabeth Miller (given age 36), his sons, recorded as Albert H. Miller (given age 14) and Clayton V. Miller (given age 9), his daughter, recorded as Lulu M. Miller (given age 12). Joseph and his family lived in a duplex at 20 Bridge Street in Shelby, where he was employed as a day laborer for the railroad. They were married for 15 years and had four children, three of whom were still living.3
