Mlt WWII Enlistment*Martin enlisted in the Army during World War II on 18 February 1943 in New York, New York County, New York. At the time of his enlistment, he was 19 and single. He had completed two years of high school and was working as a printing press operator.3 
Mlt WWII*Martin served in the Army during World War II. He originally served in the 460th Paratroop Infantry Regiment of the 517th (known as the Flying Buzzards), and later the 82nd Airborne. He served in the European conflict and was involved in action at Anzio, the Normandy invasion, and the Battle of the Bulge. 
Marriage*Martin married Mary Ellen Langan
Occupation*Martin was a printer. He worked at various companies including American Bank Niote.4 
Death*Martin died on 6 December 2011 in Nyack, Rockland County, New York, at age 87.2,5

Martin T. Bockis of Nyack and formerly of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into rest on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011. He was 87.

The son of the late Martin and Mary Doonan Bockis he was born on February 14, 1924 in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.

Martin was an Army Veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division during WWII. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include: daughters Marilyn Torre and husband Arthur of NJ; Anna Marie Bockis and husband Howard of ME and Bernadette Bockis of CA; son John Bockis of NY; ten grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and three sisters.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ellen Langan Bockis and daughter Suzanne DiPasquale.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 6 – 9pm at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 9 at 10:00am at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Fredella "Dolly" Secor

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Fredella "Dolly" Secor, seventynine years old, a local resident since 1958, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2008 at her residence. She was born October 23, 1929 in Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY and was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Noonan Bockis. Dolly was employed as a cashier at Shop Rite in Wappingers Falls for over twenty years until her retirement in 1995. She was a communicant of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. Because three of her brothers had served in the US military, Dolly felt a strong calling to become a member of the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, which she proudly served for many years. On May 8, 1949, she married Philip R. Secor in Cornwall, NY. Philip predeceased her on April 8, 1994. Dolly is survived by her two sons, James L. Secor of Gardiner, NY and William Secor of Wappingers Falls; a daughter, Phyllis Secor of Wappingers Falls; one brother, Martin; three sisters, Anne, Ellen and Mary; two grandchildren, Jamie Marie Secor and Michael James Secor; three great-grandchildren, Kyle Weller, and Camille and Lily Secor; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Secor, who died in 1993. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill and burial was private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to St. Mary Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson Street, Box L, Fishkill, NY 12524. Arrangements were under the direction of the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main Street, Fishkill.
