Freda was a retired secretary at Providence Hospital in Sandusky. She was a veteran of World War II, where she served in the Women's Army Corp at the Erie Ordnance Depot. She was active in community affairs, including the Daughters of Isabella, Christian Women's Club, Bellevue Hospital Auxilliary, BSHS Band Boosters, American Red Cross, American Legion, and the Girl Scouts.
