Deed*He sold property to Heinrich Augustus Unkauf on 31 May 1902 in Mount Pulaski, Logan County, Illinois. The land he purchased was a house lot, next to the railroad tracks. It was described as follows in the deed: "All of Lot Ten (10) except the part that the Illinois Central Railroad Company occupies also Seven feet off of the South side of Lot Nine (9) all in Block Thirty nine (39) in the City of Mt. Pulaski." August built a small house on this lot for his family, where they lived for the next 20 plus years.
