Shirley E. Daniel, 53, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2000, at her residence at 3408 S. CR 19.

She was born Jan. 27, 1947, in Alvada, to the late Cyril J. Sr. and Germaine R. (Gosche) Nye. On Jan. 27, 1968, in St. Peter Catholic Church, Alvada, she married Ed Daniel, who survives.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Tony (Amy) Lombardi of Milan, Mrs. Ron (Sara) Brown of Tiffin, Mrs. Mike (Jackie) Ewald of Stow and Mrs. Brian (Gwen) Weikert of Delaware, Ohio; eight grandchildren; five brothers, Cyril M. Jr. and Donald G. Nye, both of New Riegel and Delbert J., Carl J. and Richard L. Nye, all of Alvada; and six sisters, Mrs. Luke (Mary Lou) Weinandy of Alvada, Idella Reinhart of Fremont, Mrs. Lewis (Eloise) Reinhart of Fostoria, Mrs. Ralph (Teresa) Szablewski of Tiffin, Mrs. Eugene (Donna) Reinhart, also of Alvada and her twin sister, Mrs. Marvin (Sharon) Hohman of New Riegel.

A sister, Berneida Lichtle, also is deceased.

Mrs. Daniel, a 1965 New Riegel High School graduate, was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the family farm.

A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society, she served as a volunteer for St. Joseph School Library and as a 4-H advisor.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James K. Say and Deacon Lewis Reinhart officiating. The rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 1-4 and 5-9 p.m. Thursday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to FACT (Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment) of Seneca County or Community Hospice Care of Seneca County.
