Lucy Teresa Wise
Lucy Teresa Wise, 100, of Tiffin, died Saturday evening June 4, 2005, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin. On Oct. 30, 1904, in Tiffin, she was born to Frank and Clara (Wilhelm) Wise.
Survivors include: three nieces, Eileen DeBarbrie, Martha A. Eberly, Pat Burks; nine nephews, Tom, Jim, Jerry, John, Don, Bob, Louis, Mike, and Dennis Wise.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kurtz; three brothers, twins, George and Charles, and an infant brother Ralph.
Ms. Wise was a 1922 graduate of Columbian High School and a 1925 graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse with Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, Tiffin State Hospital, and Dr. Consolo and Dr. Lupica, where she retired after many years. Lucy was very active throughout her life as a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Daughters of Isabella, Senior Citizens, St. Francis Auxiliary and Third Order for 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, traveling and gardening.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Ferris officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:15 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home. A Wake service will be at 7:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent School of Nursing or St. Mary Catholic Church.
