Leo Charles Lucius

Leo Charles Lucius, 87, of CR 38, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. He was born Dec. 14, 1917, in New Riegel to Peter and Catherine (Kirian) Lucius. His wife, Elizabeth Anna (Kleinfelter) Lucius, whom he married May 24, 1941, in St. Patrick Catholic Church of Bascom, died Feb. 12, 2004.
Surviving are children: Rose Ann (James) Kessler, New Riegel; Larry J. Lucius, Fostoria; Janet M. Lucius, Columbus; Mary Lucius, Oak Harbor; Karen Lucius, Curtice; Brenda Lucius and David Leo (Mary Jane) Lucius, both of Tiffin; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, John (Dorothy) Lucius of Tiffin.
He was predeceased by: an infant daughter, Mary; a grandson, Tony Kessler; three brothers, Louis, George and Alfred Lucius and three sisters, Corrine Wagner, Norine Kern and Clara Durnwald.
A retired farmer, Mr. Lucius was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Liberty Township. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Liberty Township, with the Rev. Art Newiadomski officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
