George J. Daniel

George J. Daniel, 68, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2006, at his home. He was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Tiffin, to Victor and Lena (Schock) Daniels. On Oct. 25, 1958, he married Doris M. (Lilley), and she survives.

He is survived by sons, Jim (Renee) Daniel of Sycamore, Rick (Kim) Daniel of Sycamore, Bill (Sheila) Daniel of Upper Sandusky; and daughters, Theresa (Ed) Clark of Tiffin, Julie (Michael) Shetter of Tiffin and Carol (Terry) Iannantuono of Tiffin.

He also is survived by grandchildren, Samuel (Jen) Daniel of Findlay; Jenny, Rachel and Jacob Daniel of Sycamore; Katie and Susie Daniel of Sycamore; Andrea amd Jessica Shetter of Tiffin; Tiffiany Clark of Kentucky; Jessica Clark of Sycamore; Ryan Daniel of Upper Sandusky; Bradley and Matthew Iannantuono of Tiffin; and expected great-grandson, Brock Jacob Daniel.

Also survivging him are survived by sisters, Anna (Fred) Elchert of New Riegel, Evelyn Daniel of Tiffin, Mary (Wayne) Groweg of Gibsonburg, Kate (Bill) Meyer of Arcadia, Vickie (Patrick) Lauer of Tiffin; and brothers, Edward (Paula) Daniel of Tiffin, Thomas (Denice) Daniel of Tiffin, and Michael (Deb) Daniel of Tiffin.

Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a Calvert High School, class of 1956 graduate. As a farmer, Mr. Daniel had recently specialized in grain, but, until 1985, had worked in dairy. He was a former board member of Tiffin Farmers, and a Tymochtee Township trustee. He was well known at the Wyandot County Fair for assuming the character, “Klondike Man.” He enjoyed cutting wood, going to farm sales and yearly trips to Florida. He was especially fond of spending time with his wife Doris, and his children and grandchildren.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Avenue, Sycamore, (419) 927-6252.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 9, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Sycamore, with the Revs. Frank Murd and Rev. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Funeral Home, Sycamore.

Memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
