Richard J. Miller Sr.

Richard J. Miller Sr., 81, of 574 Southwest Road, Bellevue, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. He was born Aug. 12, 1923, in Attica, to George and Rosa (Seasley) Miller. His wife, Monica (Ruffing) Miller, whom he married Dec. 1, 1951, in Winona, Minn. is deceased.

Other survivors include: sons, Richard J. Miller Jr. (Sharon) of Castalia and David Miller of San Diego, Calif.; step son, Charles Shoup (Barb) of Bloomville; daughters, Sharon Green (Eli Carroll) of Castalia and Carolyn Reider (Ed) of Oak Harbor; special friend, Madelyn Breidenbach of Tiffin; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Mildred Miller of Bellevue.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, three brothers, Clarence, Albert and Norbert Miller; four sisters, Eleanor Heydinger, Sophia Ruffing, Delores Krupp and Helen Miller.

Mr. Miller worked at Waldock Packing in Sandusky for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and the Cleveland Indians. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bellevue.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Keith Stripe officiating. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 at the Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, Ohio (419) 483-5484.
