Jägersburg is a part of the city of Homburg in the Saar-Pfalz region of Germany. It is known to have been inhabited as far back as the Stone age. There are the ruins of several castles that belonged to the various counts of Zweibrücken. It was also known as Hattweiler for a time. The current name of Jägersburg (Hunter's Castle) was given to the area by Duke Christian IV of Pfalz Zweibrücken when he built a large hunting lodge in the area. The Catholioc residents of Jägersburg attended church at St. Michael's in Homburg and the records are located in the books of that parish. More information on Jägersburg can be found on the village website at Jägersburg, History of a Place in the Saar
