Frank X. Frisch

Frank X. Frisch, 80, of Tiffin, died Monday morning, Oct. 19, 2009, on his 57 1/2-year wedding anniversary, at his home.

He was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Seneca County, to Frank and Catharine (Schreiner) Frisch. He married Mary Tiell April 19, 1952, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; nine children, Virginia Ridner (Earlie Spradlin), Ronald (Patty) Frisch, Joyce (John) Black and Sandie (Ray) Lease, all of Tiffin, Myron (Irene) Frisch of Bloomville, Roger (Sandy) Frisch of Tiffin, Beth (Doug) Nichols of Republic, Larry (Rebecca) Frisch of Findlay and Amy (Joseph) Snyder of Tiffin; a sister, Helen Meyers of Milan; 28 grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Ridner, Dean (Becky Tiell) Ridner, Greg (Kristy Vaughn) Ridner, Sheena (Brian) Bridinger, Christopher (Stephanie) Frisch, Michael Frisch, Josephine (Steve) Parsons, Janet, Jillian and Jaclyn Black, Clint and Candace Lease, Ashley (Nick) Strojny, Amber (Tim) Sturgill, Tim and Kara Frisch, Brittany, Katie and Kyle Frisch, Seth, Cody, and Noah Nichols and Luke, Joey, Josh, Elijah, Matt and Trevor Snyder; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Frisch was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leo and Lawrence Frisch; seven sisters, Eleanor Alt, Ann Guloski, Rose Stockmaster, Loretta Claus, Hilda Moyer, Mary Stockmaster and Marcella Heyman; and a granddaughter, Maggie Frisch.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, lifetime farmer in Seneca County, member of the Seneca County Farm Bureau and a machinist at National Machinery for more than 24 years, retiring in 1989. Frank was a member of the T-Squares, enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, playing cards, solving Sudoku, playing the harmonica, gardening and was a talented writer of poetry. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with all of them.

A celebration of life Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral

Burial*He was buried on 22 October 2009 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, located in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. The funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph's Church, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Szybka. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.1
