Death Takes Widow of Edward T. Smith

     Mrs. Helen Smith, 88, widow of Edward T. Smith, died at 11:15 p. m. Wednesday Dec. 30, 1941 in her home at 52 Center street. Her death resulted from infirmities of age and followed illness which had been critical for one week.
     Mrs. Smith was born in Paris, France, Dec. 20, 1853 to Jacques and Mary (Bartelle) Koerper. Her parents brought her to America when she was a year old and she resided in this vicinity practically all the remainder of her life. She was married in St. Andrew's church in 1878 to Edward T. Smith, who is now long deceased. Surviving are a son and daughter, Otto E., Tiffin; and Miss Margaret M. of Cynthiana, Ky; a brother and two sisters, Frank Koerper, Sedalia, Mo; and Mrs. Margaret Gronewold and Mrs. Anna Brickner, both of Tiffin; and four grandchildren.
     Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and funeral services will be held in that church at 9 a. m. Saturday and will be followed by burial in St. Joseph's cemetery. friends may call at the Hoffmann Memorial.
