Census 1930*Steven was listed as the head of household on the 1930 Census recorded 28 April 1930 in Bronx, Bronx County, New York. The official date of this census was 1 Apr 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, recorded as Anna (?), his son, recorded as Stephen J. Velten. Steven was superintendent of an apartment building at 585 East 138th Street. He lived with his wife and three children. He immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1893, and his wife immigrated from Northern Ireland in 1897.1
